Rockville Chiropractor Dr. Katherine Kadin
Dr. Kat discovered her passion for Chiropractic after breaking her collarbone in a college rugby match. She sought medical intervention from surgeons, orthopedic physicians and physical therapists, all of whom said her only option was surgery. They said without it, she would be permanently disfigured. On the advice of a friend, Dr. Kat made an appointment with a local chiropractor. Chiropractic not only saved her collarbone, but also transformed her life. What became apparent to Dr. Kat was that our bodies have a profound ability to heal themselves and that the art of chiropractic supports this process by freeing this natural ability. It set her on a mission to learn and share this incredible healing profession with others.
A Chiropractic Education
Dr. Kat graduated from Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton, FL in 1996 with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with an emphasis in Psychobiology. She continued her education at West Boca Medical Center, working in their Postpartum Ward and Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. After her collarbone injury and encounter with the power of chiropractic she began the next chapter of her life. She pursued her studies at Life Chiropractic College in Atlanta, GA, where she graduated Cum Laude as a Doctor of Chiropractic.
After her first few years of practice in Richmond, Virginia, Dr. Kat moved to Rockville, Maryland, where she joined an established practice, and in early 2007 opened a private practice. In 2009, she became Certified in the Webster Technique, and in 2010, she received her Post Doctorate (DACCP – Diplomate and Certified by the Academy Council of Chiropractic Pediatrics) from the International Chiropractic Pediatric Association.
On a Personal Note
Dr. Kat and her husband have two sons, Xavier and Julian (her VBAC baby). As a family, they enjoy an active lifestyle and are dedicated to living and embodying the philosophy of chiropractic wellness, which centers on a balance of mind, body, and soul. Along with regular chiropractic adjustments, Dr. Kat and Thad pursue wellness through a mostly gluten-free and dairy-free whole food and unprocessed diet, and regular exercise with trainers and at the gym. Dr. Kat has also discovered a love for Zumba, which she looks forward to attending every week! As active members of their local parish church community, they are regularly participating in events to give back locally.
“I strongly believe that how you nourish an individual, physically, chemically, nutritionally and emotionally, sets them up for life. It is this belief that motivates me to be deeply committed to healthcare that empowers the gift of life from preconception through the senior years.” - Dr. Kat
